What favourite book that you would recommend and why

Hitchhiker’s Guide to Galaxy by the late Douglas Adams (1979). This book describes with wonderful british humour the irrelevance of the earth and all human activities on it in relation to the universe in its spatial and temporal dimensions and should help to unite mankind in peace and the endeavour to preserve the planet.
